Box Score Sewanee, Tenn. - Sewanee scored the final three goals of the third period and the first two of the fourth to turn a two-goal lead into seven on the way to a 13-7 win over DePauw. DePauw dropped to 3-5, while Sewanee improved to 5-2.
The visiting Tigers held a 2-1 lead after the first period on goals by Andrew Wright and Jack Roberts. Sewanee's Robbie Berndt countered with his second goal of the game early in the second before Wright gave DePauw a 3-2 advantage with 6:36 left in the half.
Sewanee knotted the contest with 5:02 left on HAyden Byrd's score and then took the lead with only 10 seconds left on Cotter Brown's goal.
The third period saw more goals than in the entire first half as Sewanee held a 6-2 edge in the period to take a 10-5 lead into the final stanza. A pair of Sewanee scored in the opening 2:11 of the final period extended the lead to 12-5. Kyle Roberts and Wright added the final two DePauw scores.
Wright led the Tigers with three goals, while Roberts and Ben Sherman each had four ground balls. Berndt totaled four goals for Sewanee and Matthew Stiefel added three. Hal Smith had 12 ground balls and won 17-of-19 faceoffs.
Joe Musto recorded five saves for DePauw, while Zach Taylor had seven. Sewanee's Selby Austin had three saves and Ed Haubenreiser totaled two.
Sewanee held a 52-20 advantage in shots and led 41-24 in ground balls. The hosts also had 18 turnovers to DePauw's 16. Sewanee also held a decisive 20-3 margin in faceoff wins.
