Shenandoah, Texas - DePauw's Blake Lehmann had quite a day at the NCAA Division III Championships as he earned all-America honors in one event and was part of four school records.
Lehmann finished fifth in the 100-yard butterfly in 48.36 seconds after breaking the school record in the prelims in 48.00 which equaled the second-fastest swim of the morning.
He also was the anchor of the 200 freestyle relay that included Brandon Sholtis, Casey Hooker and Alex Alfonso. That relay was seventh in the prelims in a school-record 1:21.53 and then broke the record again in the finals in 1:21.22 which also was good for seventh place and all-America honors.
Lehmann led off the 400 medley relay in prelims with a school-record backstroke time of 49.97 seconds. The relay, which also consisted of Mitchell Davis, Alfonso and Stephen McMurtry, finished prelims in 15th in 3:20.39. They also were 15th in the finals in 3:21.38.
Hooker earned honorable mention all-America honors in the 200 free with a 12th-place finish in 1:39.29 after placing 10th in the prelims in 1:38.95. Alex Grissom was 22nd in the event in 1:39.63, while McMurtry was 35th in 1:40.52. Alfonso was also 20th in the 100 fly in 49.11 seconds.
The Tigers have totaled 63 points and are in 12th at the midway point of the Championships. Kenyon leads with 287 and Denison is second with 209.
