Greencastle, Ind. - The 25th-ranked Tigers improved to 5-5 overall and 1-0 in NCAC West Division play after a 9-0 win over visiting Wittenberg on the DePauw Indoor Courts. Wittenberg dropped to 1-7 with the loss.
DePauw opened with a doubles sweep and lost just two games in the process. The Tigers' number-one duo of Alec Kaczkowski and Dan Rodefeld blanked Alexey Topolyanskiy and JiaLang Woo, 8-0, while the second-doubles tandem of Patrick Farrell and Harold Martin were 8-1 winners over Dennis Gleason and Stefan Thornberry. Rico Lumanlan and Nate Wallace also notched an 8-1 win over Akbar Tiwana and Seth Quay at third doubles.
The tightest match of the day occurred at first singles where Alec Kaczkowski topped Topolyanskiy 7-6 (7-5), 4-6, 1-0 (10-4). Rodefeld was a 6-0, 6-1 victor over JiaLang Woo at the second position.
DePauw then picked up 6-0, 6-0 wins at three through sixth singles as Farrell defeated Gleason, Rico Lumanlan topped Tiwana, Matt Santen beat Thornberry and Eric Bruynseels (DPUM) won over Quay.
The Tigers travel to Kenyon this Saturday where they'll face 30th-ranked Swarthmore at 1 p.m. and the host and eighth-ranked Lords at 5 p.m.
