#23 Tigers Battle Back from 4-1 Deficit to Beat Denison and Head to NCAC Title Match

Granville, Ohio - Trailing 4-1, the 23rd-ranked Tigers won the remaining four singles matches and advanced to the North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament championship match for the second straight year following a 5-4 win at Denison.

The Tigers improved to 15-6 and face 11th-ranked Kenyon in Sunday's 10 a.m. title tilt, while Denison dropped to 13-7. DePauw and Kenyon met earlier this spring with the Lords taking a 5-3 victory on March 29 at Emory University in Atlanta.

The Big Red took a 2-1 lead after doubles with DePauw's lone win coming at the third spot as Patrick Ferrell and Harold Martin defeated Jackson O'Gorman-Bean and Jeffrey LoDuca, 8-4.

Denison pushed the lead to 4-1 after wins at third and fourth singles before DePauw's rally started with Eric Bruynseels topping O'Gorman-Bean 6-2, 4-6, 6-2 at the fifth position.

Matt Santen was a 7-5, 6-2 victor at number six over Graham Gettel to close the gap to 4-3. Alex Kaczkowski trailed 5-2 in the third set and was down 40-0 before fighting off five match points and tying the third set at 5-5 before his opponent, Andrew Marczak, retired.

The match then came down to first singles where Sam Miles claimed a 7-5, 2-6, 6-4 win over Juan Guerra.
