Indianapolis, Ind.- The DePauw men's tennis team competed in the USTA/ITA Central Regional Championships last weekend at North Central High School in Indianapolis, Ind.
In singles play, Dan Rodefeld, Alec Kaczkowski, Patrick Farrell, Chris Bertolini, John Daseke and Matt Santen all won their first-round matches. Farrell advanced to the round of 32 after defeating the tournament's 22nd-seeded player, while Santen defeated the 12th-seeded player to join Farrell.
In doubles, the pairing of Eric Bruynseels and Santen won their first-round match, while Rico Lumanlan and Eric Vannatta advanced to the round of 16. Farrell and Harold Martin reached the quarterfinal round before falling, and Bertolini and Rodefeld made it to the semifinal match, losing 8-6 to the tournament's number three-seeded team.
The ITA tournament signifies the end of the Tigers' fall campaign. DePauw opens their spring season February 15, when they host Washington University (Mo.).
