St. Louis, Mo. - DePauw, ranked ninth in Division III, totaled 1,017 points and won the Washington-St. Louis Invitational by 160 points over Lindenwood. The 12th-ranked hosts were third with 749 points.
A pair of DePauw relays pick up wins including the 200-yard medley relay of Blake Lehmann, Matt Kukurugya, Alex Alfonso and Jack Burgeson in 1:35.17 and the 400 freestyle relay of Casey Hooker, Lehmann, Alex Grissom and Burgeson in 3:12.12.
The Tigers' 800 free relay of Robby Spichiger, Hooker, Matt Haeske and Grissom was second in 6:59.92 as was the 400 medley relay of Alfonso, Kukurugya, Hooker and Grissom in 3:34.67 and the 200 free relay of Lehmann, Alfonso, Joe Hessburg and Burgeson in 1:25.91.
Hooker won the 200 free in 1:45.33, was second in the 100-yard butterfly in 51.91 and third in the 500 free in 4:45.92. Lehmann touched first in the 100 free in 47.67 and was third in the 50 free in 21.88.
Grissom placed second in the 500 free (4:45.52) and was third in the 200 free (1:45.43). Kukurugya was second in the 100 breaststroke (1:00.05) and the 200 breast (2:13.98). The Tigers' final second-place finish was by George Morrison in the 200 backstroke (1:59.80). Morrison was also fourth in the 1650 free (17:18.23) and fourth in the 100 back (56.06).
Luke Hessburg placed third in both the 100 breast (1:00.70) and the 200 breast (2:14.80) and Brendan Morin was third in the 100 fly (52.89).
The Tigers travel to Illinois Wesleyan on Saturday, January 19, for a 1 p.m. CST meet.
