Tigers Bow out of NCAA Men's Tennis Tournament to Top-ranked Bears

May 10, 2009, St. Louis, Mo. —  DePauw, ranked 12th in NCAA Division III, wrapped up the dual meet portion of the season at 22-4 after dropping a 5-0 decision at Washington University in the NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Third Round. The top-ranked Bears advanced to the national quarterfinals with the win and improved to 21-2.

The Bears won all three doubles matches before claiming the team win with straight-set victories at first and fifth singles.

The match was the last for DePauw head coach Tom Cath who, in February, announced his plans to leave the University. In 24 seasons as head coach, his teams compiled a 374-165 record and this year's 22 wins equaled the DePauw single-season record set in 2007.
