March 26, 2009, Hilton Head Island, S.C. — In a battle of top 25 teams, 18th-ranked DePauw prevailed over 21st-ranked Whitman by a 7-2 score. The Tigers improved to 11-1, while Whitman dropped to 19-4.
The Tigers took a 2-1 lead after Will Gates and Hutner Schouweiler defeated Quin Miller and Christoph Fuchs at number one doubles by a 9-7 score and the third doubles team of Bryan Heck and Scott Sandager topped Jake Cappel and Nadeem Kassam, 8-0.
DePauw then took straight set wins at first through fifth singles for the win.
The Tigers host Case Western Reserve at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 3.
