May 4, 2008, St. Louis, Mo. - The 16th-ranked Tigers' season came to an end following a 6-0 loss to fifth-ranked Washington University in the NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Championship third round.
DePauw finished the season with a 19-7 record, while the Bears advanced to the national quarterfinals with an 18-4 record.
Washington took a 3-0 lead after winning all three doubles matches. Isaac Stein and Max Woods topped Cameron Nash and Hunter Schouweiler by an 8-2 score at the number three slot before Charlie Cutler and Chris Hoeland defeated Kortney Keith and Scott Swanson at number one by an 8-6 score.
The Bears' number-one duo of Nirmal Choradia and John Watts wrapped up doubles play with an 8-5 victory over Will Gates and Bryan Heck.
Woods defeated Scott Sauer at number-four singles by a 6-1, 6-0 score before Hoeland defeated Evan Hunter at number five by a 6-1, 6-3 count and Stein topped Gates, 6-3, 6-2 at number six.
