Information for DePauw Student-Athletes (incoming or continuing)
Please read the information listed below as failure to follow directives or deadlines may delay your participation in intercollegiate athletics at DePauw University. Â If you have any questions, please contact Head Athletic Trainer, Kara Campbell, MS, LAT, ATC, at karacampbell@depauw.edu.
As part of this physical exam, student-athletes will be asked to provide proof of their sickle cell trait status. In addition, DePauw University requires that all student-athletes have primary medical insurance with coverage of at least $10,000 for injuries arising out of practice for or participation in intercollegiate sports.
If you do not have primary medical insurance coverage, your current medical coverage does not cover intercollegiate athletics, or does not meet the minimal coverage requirement above, you will need to purchase coverage prior to starting your intercollegiate sport participation at DePauw.  Please note that Medicaid, Tricare and medical/healthcare cost-sharing plans do not meet the university's minimum requirement above.   No student-athlete will be allowed to participate in any organized team activity until documentation of medical insurance coverage and a copy of the medical insurance card are provided in the ATS system.
