Greencastle, Ind. - The DePauw men's swimming and diving team fell-short against #12 WashU in a home dual-meet Saturday, 102-204.
Distance freestyle built momentum for the Tigers, as Daniel Schwendinger battled to a strong third-place finish in the 1000 free (9:56.88).
The Tigers carried that surge directly into the sprint events, where Connor Overgaard took third in the 100-backstroke (54.44) and 100-freestyle (53.19)
On the boards, Brodie Morken collected two third-place finishes: 1-meter dive (210.80) and 3-meter dive (167.50).
Cale Bennett contributed key points on the boards with a second-place finish in the 3-meter dive and a third-place finish in the 1-meter dive. Â
DePauw continued to rack up points across the middle of the meet. Andrew Thompson swam to third in the 500 freestyle in 4:43.91.
The Tigers closed the meet strong in the individual medley sweeping the event: Aaron Graff (1:59.91), Eric Herrera (2:05.16), and Will Longfellow (2:06.64).Â
The men finished the afternoon with a statement in the 300-yard free relay, sweeping the event. DePauw's "A" quartet of Schwendinger, James Anderson, Jeremy Stutzman, and Tyler Farkas set the tone with a 3:14.71, while the "B" relay followed close behind in 3:17.90 to give DPU their last points of the meet.
The Tigers now shift their focus to NCAC Swimming and Diving Championships, beginning February 11th and running through the 14th at Denison University in Granville, Ohio. Admission fees apply.Â
