Michael Vallone '24 (Lake Forest, Ill./Lake Forest) has been chosen third team all-America by
D3baseball.com.
Earlier this week, Vallone was chosen first team all-region VII by D3baseball.com and was also named to the American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings All-Region VII first team. Additionally, he was named the region's pitcher of the year by D3baseball.com.
Vallone was selected as the
North Coast Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Year and a first team all-NCAC choice for the third time in his career.Â
For the season, Vallone posted a 7-1 record with a 2.95 earned run average with two complete games among his nine starts and 12 appearances. In 58.0 innings he struck out 81 and walked just 16.
Vallone is DePauw's fourth baseball all-America selection and first since Kevin Ehinger '04 was a
second team choice by the ABCA.
