D3baseball.com and ABCA logos

Trio of Tigers Earn All-Region Honors

Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw was represented by three players each on the D3baseball.com and the American Baseball Coachs Association all-region teams.

Shortstop Max Bond (Jr., Zionsville, Ind./Zionsville) was a first team choice by D3baseball.com and second team by the ABCA, while outfielder Aidan Howard (Portland, Ore./Tualatin) was a second team selection on the ABCA squad and third team by D3baseball.com. Third baseman Grady Johnson (Jr., Lexington, Ky./Sayre) garnered third team honors on both.

Bond, a first team all-North Coast Athletic Conference selection and the league's Gold Glove Award winner, batted .307 with 54 hits and 49 runs scored, while hammering a team-high nine homers and driving in 51 runs. He drew a team-high 36 walks, stole nine bases and posted a .968 fielding average while being a part of 27 double plays.

Howard, a first team all-NCAC choice, led the Tigers with a .401 batting average with 69 hits and a team-best 53 runs scored. He tied a program single-season record with 20 doubles and hit seven homers while driving in 46 runs and stealing 10 bases. His OPS of 1.136 led the squad and he played errorless ball in the outfield while handing 73 chances.

Johnson, also a first team all-NCAC selection, was second on the team with a .387 batting average and broke the program record with 74 hits. He scored 37 runs with 14 doubles, a team-best three triples and eight homers. Johnson drove in a team-high 55 runs.

DePauw finished the season with a 30-15 record including a runner-up finish at the Adrian Regional.
