Box Score Gambier, Ohio-Â The DePauw men's tennis dropped its first conference matchup after falling 8-1 to Kenyon College. The Tigers move to 12-7 overall and 5-1 in North Coast Athletic Conference play, while the Owls improve to 11-7 overall and 5-1 in conference play.
Kenyon's Christophe Leblanc and Alejandro Gonzalez beat Chase Hutchinson and Hudson Mosher 8-0 on court three, to jump to a 1-0 doubles lead. DePauw's Finley Buelte and Teagen Crow would tie the match at one apiece after beating the Owls' Rishil Kondapaneni and Eric Zhang 8-4 on court one. Kenyon would regain its lead on court two after Paulo Pocasangre Kreling and Eliezer Gonzalez defeated Ryan McCook and Wils Warren 8-7 (7-2).
In singles play, the Owls managed to pull away and clinch the necessary matches to win the afternoon. On court two, Rishil Kondapaneni defeated Samuele Pia 6-0, 6-2, and Paulo Pocasangre Kreling beat Finley Buelte 6-4, 6-2 on court one. Alejandro Gonzalez, who defeated Ryan McCook 7-6 (7-3), 6-1 on court three, clinched the match for Kenyon.Â
On the remaining courts, Grayson Zylstra fell to the Owl'sRakkan Audeh 7-5, 6-3 on court six, and on court four, Kenyon's Gianluca Bocanegra beat Jake Louiselle 7-5, 6-4. The final win for the Owls came on court six when Eliezer Gonzalez came from behind to beat Scott Anderson 3-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-3).
The Tigers' final NCAC regular season match is Sunday, April 21, at 12 p.m. at Denison.
