Alec McCarty Third Team Academic All-America Graphic

McCarty Selected Academic All-America®

Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw men's soccer defender Alec McCarty (Zionsville, Ind./Zionsville) has been named Third Team Academic All-America® as selected by CSC (College Sports Communicators) for NCAA Division III men's soccer. McCarty is one of 34 student-athletes named to the three Division III teams.

A biochemistry major, McCarty has a 3.96 cumulative grade point average and has been named to both the DePauw's Dean's List and the athletics department's Tiger Pride Honor Roll. He is a two-time North Coast Athletic Conference Academic Honor Roll honoree.

McCarty is among DePauw's 53 student-athletes to earn Academic All-America® honors since the program's inception in 1952. Including multiple-year winners, DePauw student-athletes have earned the distinction 70 times.The complete list of DePauw's honorees is here.

McCarty earned second team all-NCAC honors for the third straight year after helping the Tigers to a 3-2-3 conference finish and a spot in the NCAC Tournament. He garnered NCAC all-tournament honors as the Tigers won the title with road wins over Ohio Wesleyan and Denison to earn a spot in the NCAA Division III Championship for the first time since 2016.
