Crawfordsville, Ind.- The DePauw men's swimming team came up short in its 141-139 dual loss to the Wabash Little Giants. Despite falling to Wabash, 12 DePauw swimmers earned 20 individual top-three finishes.

The Tigers opened the dual with a first and third finish in the 200 medley relay. DePauw's
Nathan Turner,
Patrick Unterreiner,
Ben Hilfinger, and
James Shorney took first with a time of 1:38.05, while
Jimmy Anderson,
Ethan Spencer,
Robbie Sheffield, and
Michael Ray finished in 1:41.62 for third place.

Of the 20 top-three finishes from the evening's dual, the Tigers recorded the only sweep of the dual after Shorney (53.62), Sheffield (54.27), and
Eli VanHaaren (56.23) swept the 100 butterfly.

Hilfinger tallied two first-place victories, one in the 50 free with a time of 20.97 and the other in the 100 free with a time of 46:36. Shorney and Turner also earned first-place finishes to help bolster the Tigers' point total. Shorney took home first in the 100 fly and finished third in the 50 free (22.18). Turner earned a first-place finish in the 200 backstroke (2:01.19) and finished second in the 100 backstroke with a time of 56.09.

Six separate swimmers earned the remaining top three finishes.
Brock Kinnamon finished the evening with two second-place finishes, one in the 200 free (1:46.24) and the other in the 500 free (4:56.19). Unterreiner earned second-place finishes in the 100 breast (1:02.88), in the 200 breast (2:16.41), and a first-place finish in the 200 IM (2:03.62).

Rounding out the individual top-three finishes wasÂ
Will Plumb, who finished second in the 1000 free (10:31.05); he was followed by
Evan Villeneuve, who earned third with a time of 10:36.76. Spencer would finish second in the 200 butterfly after swimming it in 2:08.00, less than a tenth of a second before
Alex Russo finished with a time of 2:08.04 for third.

DePauw would complete the meet with a first and third-place win in the 400-free relay. Kinnamon, Ray, Shorney, and Hilfinger finished in 3:11.00 for first, while
Braden Mallery,
Ethan Williams Fonner,
Parker Fleischman-Ament, and Sheffield finished third with a time of 3:18.22.
The Tigers take a winter recess and pick its season back up on Saturday, January 14, at Franklin College. The meet is set to start at 1 p.m.
