Greencastle, Ind. - The 12-2-5 DePauw men's soccer team opens NCAA Division III Championship play on Saturday, Nov. 15, with a 1 p.m. CST contest against Chicago (11-2-5) at Wisconsin-Whitewater. The 3:30 p.m. CST game features WashU (13-3-0) against the host Warhawks (14-3-2). Saturday's winners will meet on Sunday at 3 p.m. CST for the right to advance to the sectional (round of 16) round.
DePauw earned automatic qualification into the 64-team field after winning the North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament with a 3-1 win over Denison on Saturday. The Tigers also captured the NCAC regular season title. Chicago and Wis.-Whitewater earned at-large bids, while WashU earned automatic qualification by winning the University Athletic Association.
The Tigers are making their 14th NCAA appearance and second consecutive after last year's 2-0 loss to Hope. The Tigers are 4-13-1 in NCAA history and advanced to the sectional round in 2015. The Maroons are appearing in the postseason for the 15th time with a 24-9-7 mark including a championship in 2022 and four other semifinal appearances.
