Greencastle, Ind. - In voting by the conference coaches, six DePauw student-athletes have been selected to the All-North Coast Athletic Conference teams and the coaching staff was was recognized as the staff of the year.
Earning first team honors were infielder
Katie Mathies (So., Shelbyville, Ind./Shelbyville), outfielder
Abby Pyburn (Sr., Antioch, Ill./Antioch), pitcher
Megan Asher (Fr., West Lafayette, Ind./Benton Central)Â and pitcher
Kersten Brayton (Sr., Elmwood Park, Ill./Elmwood Park).
Mathies batted .400 in the 14 conference games with 16 hits and 20 runs batted in and shared the conference lead with four homers. Pyburn, a first team selection in 2021, hit .448 in conference games with six RBI and 13 hits. Asher posted a 6-2 record in conference games along with a 2.00 earned run average with 38 strikeouts and just nine walks in 42 innings with opposing batters hitting just .181 against her. Brayton was 4-0 with a 1.73 ERA and struck out 15 with just two walks in 24 1/3 innings.
Infielder
Alyssa Anderson (Jr., Westlake Village, Calif./Agoura) was chosen to the second team as was catcher
Kelsey Bernhard (Jr., Downers Grove, Ill./Downers Grove North).
Anderson hit .409 in conference games with nine hits and seven RBI, while Bernhard batted .393 with 11 hits and five RBI.

Mark Hendrickson were voted as the staff of the year as they helped the Tigers to a 12-2 record in conference play and a third straight NCAC title and seventh overall. In the 14 conference games, DePauw led the league in batting average (.373), runs (103), hits (149), home runs (9), slugging (.515), stolen bases (61), earned run average (2.60), strikeouts (62), and opposing batting average (.250).Â
