Four Tigers Earn All-Region Honors

Greencastle, Ind. - Four DePauw student-athletes were selected to the American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings all-region 7 team including one who also earned D3baseball.com all-region 7 accolades.

Michael Vallone (So., Lake Forest, Ill./Lake Forest) was a second team selection for both organizations after posting a 10-1 record with a 2.22 ERA. His 10 wins were tied for second in school history, while his 91 strikeouts set a new DePauw record.

First baseman Kyle Callahan (Sr., Zionsville, Ind./Zionsville) and center fielder Nick Nelson (Sr., Zionsville, Ind./Zionsville) were also second team choices by the ABCA. Callahan hit .363 and equaled a DePauw single-season record with 13 homers along with team-highs of 46 runs scored, 52 RBI and a .767 slugging percentage. His 21 career homers broke the school record. Nelson batted .351 with nine homers and 36 RBI and led the team with 17 doubles.

Second baseman Cameron Macon (So., St. Louis, Mo./Kirkwood) was a third team ABCA/Rawlings choice after batting .377 with five homers and 38 RBI. He led the Tigers with 58 hits and 11 stolen bases and reached base safely in all but the first game of the season. He also hit safely in the final 15 contests of the season.
