Max Bond (Zionsville, Ind./Zionsville), a rising senior and shortstop on the DePauw baseball team has been chosen Third Team Academic All-America® as selected by CSC (College Sports Communicators) for NCAA Division III baseball. He is among 33 student-athletes named to one of three teams.
A biochemistry major with a 3.76 cumulative grade point average, Bond was a first team D3baseball.com all-region choice and a second team American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) all-region selection. Bond, a first team all-North Coast Athletic Conference selection and the league's Gold Glove Award winner batted .307 with 54 hits and 49 runs scored, while hammering a team-high nine homers and driving in 51 runs. He drew a team-high 36 walks, stole nine bases and posted a .968 fielding average while being a part of 27 double plays.
He is among DePauw's 59 student-athletes to earn Academic All-America® honors since the program's inception in 1952. Including multiple-year winners, DePauw student-athletes have earned the distinction 78 times.
