Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw sophomore pitcher Michael Vallone (So., Lake Forest, Ill./Lake Forest) has been selected North Coast Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week for the third time this year and fifth time in his career.

In yesterday's 13-4 win in the opening game at Allegheny, Vallone improved to 9-1 after allowing just one run and four hits in eight innings while striking out 12 and walking one. With his 12 strikeouts, Vallone moved his season total to 88 which broke the Tigers' single-season mark of 80 by PJ Mitchell in 2006.

The 21-15 Tigers open North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament play in Chillicothe, Ohio, on Thursday, May 12, with a 3 p.m. game against Denison.
