Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw pitcher Michael Vallone (So., Lake Forest, Ill./Lake Forest) has been selected as North Coast Athletic Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week for his performance last week. This is Vallone's second selection this year and fourth in his career after being recognized twice last season.
Vallone started Saturday's first game at Hendrix and pitched five innings, allowing just a single unearned run on five hits with four strikeouts and one walk. He helped the Tigers to a 9-6 win which was the Warriors first loss of the season after starting 12-0.
In three starts this season, Vallone is 3-0 with a 1.20 earned run average with 20 strikeouts and just three walks in 15 innings.
The Tigers are 4-4 on the season and return to action with a March 13 doubleheader at Hanover.
