Tigers Collect 16 Hits in 10-3 Win over Quakers

Richmond, Ind. - DePauw pounded out eight extra-base hits including three homers on the way to a 10-3 win at Earlham. The Tigers improved to 7-9, while the Quakers dropped to 11-5.

The Tigers grabbed a 3-0 lead in the first as Cameron Allen led off the game with a single and moved to third on Kyle Callahan's double. Cameron Macon's ground out brought home Allen and Callahan scored on a wild pitch. Danny Glimco followed with a homer to make it 3-0.

Nathan Lancianese led off the Quakers' first by reaching on an error. He later stole second and scored on Andrew Bradley's homer to left.

DePauw struck for two more in the fourth as Nick Nelson led off with a ground-rule double and Evan Barnes followed with a two-run homer to left. Callahan led off the fifth with a homer to push the lead to 6-2.

Barnes walked to lead off the sixth and moved to third on Wilson Graves' double. Paul Jennewein reached on an error that allowed Barnes to score and, after Callahan walked to load the bases, Callahan delivered a two-run double. The Tigers' final run came in the eighth when Nelson drew a bases loaded walk that allowed Tim Rommeney to score.

Earlham scored the game's final run in the ninth when Easton Embry walked with the bases loaded to score Reece Zonts who led off the frame with a single.

The Tigers totaled 16 hits led by Callahan with three and two each from Glimco, Nelson, Barnes, Graves and Jennewein. Lancianese and Bradley each had two of Earlham's seven hits.

Dylan Perrott picked up the win after allowing just one earned run in 5 2/3 innings and improved to 1-1. Earlham's Dillon Fischer dropped to 1-1 with the loss.

DePauw opens North Coast Athletic Conference play on Saturday, April 2, with a Noon doubleheader at Wooster.
