Box Score Granville, Ohio - DePauw jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first, but host Denison scored four in the first and six in the second on the way to a 13-4 North Coast Athletic Conference West Division win over the Tigers. The second game was postponed and will be played on Sunday as the first part of a Noon doubleheader. The Tigers dropped to 12-15 overall and 5-6 in NCAC divisional play, while the Big Red improved to 15-8 overall and 8-3 in the NCAC.
Trey Shaw led off the game by reaching second on an error. He then moved to third on a wild pitch and scored on Kyle Callahan's grounder.
Denison started the bottom half of the frame with four straight singles to make it 1-0 before Daniel Spencer doubled home two and Ty Robinson added an RBI double.
The Big Red added six in the second as Max Lahn and Will Krushena delivered RBI singles before Dylan Hunter's sacrifice fly made it 7-0. Robinson's two-run double and Anthony Ruggieri's run-scoring single gave Denison a 10-1 advantage after two innings.
Callahan led off the DePauw fourth with a single and Charlie Patrick moved him to third with a base hit. Nick Nelson's single scored Callahan and Danny Sheehan's base hit plated Patrick to make it 10-3.
Denison came right back in the bottom of the fourth as Ruggieri reached on an error with two outs that scored Krushena and Patrick Neenan scored a pair with a double.
DePauw's final run came in the fifth as Shaw led off with a double, advanced to third on Patrick's single and scored on a wild pitch.
Patrick had two of DePauw's six hits, while Krushena and Neenan each had three of Denison's 16 hits.
Hayden Poston dropped to 0-2, while Will McManaman improved to 2-1.
