Box Score 2 Indianapolis, Ind. - DePauw moved to 2-4 on the season following a doublheader sweep of Manchester at Chatard High School by scores of 7-0 and 19-13. The Spartans moved to 1-3.
Nick Casey tossed a one-hitter over the seven-inning game, allowing just a fifth-inning double and striking out eight.
DePauw scored six in the second and one in the fourth for the win. All nine Tigers in the lineup collected at least one hit with Evan Barnes leading the way with two. Joe Henschel had Manchester's only hit.
Casey improved to 1-1, while Austin Kresl dropped to 0-1.
In the nightcap, the Tigers scored at least once in seven of the nine inning and never trailed.
Kyle Boyer had four of DePauw's 20 hits, drove in five and hit two homers. Trey Shaw followed with three hits with Cameron Allen, Barnes, Callahan, Charlie Patrick and Jackson Williams each totaling two. Callahan also drove in four with Patrick and Nick Nelson also homering.
Henschel led Manchester with four of its 14 hits and drove in six.
Sam Paddock improved to 1-1 for DePauw, while Keegan Stevens dropped to 0-2.
The teams square off in a Noon doubleheader tomorrow at Chatard High School.
