DePauw Extends Win Streak to Five with Win over Earlham

Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw scored in five different innings and improved to 20-11 with a 6-2 win over Earlham. The Quakers dropped to 15-17.

DePauw took a 2-0 lead in the second as Noah Salasky drove in Jackson Williams with a single and Nick Nelson later stole home before Salasky was called out in a rundown. Nolan Lavender led off the DePauw third with a double and moved to third on a wild pitch before scoring on Charlie Patrick's single.

Earlham trimmed the lead to 3-2 in the fourth as Marc Gendreau led off with a single and moved to third on Isaiah Shake's single. Austin Hartfield drove in Gendreau with a sacrifice fly. Shake stole second, advanced to third on a wild pitch and crossed the plate when Addison Robertson grounded out.

The Tigers countered in the bottom of the fourth as Williams reached on a wild pitch after striking out and moved to second on Nelson's single. Williams later stole third and came home on a throwing error on the play.

Salasky scored on a wild pitch in the seventh after reaching on a single and Evan Barnes plated Jack Omstead with an eighth-inning single.

Salasky and Barnes each had two of DePauw's nine hits, while four different Quakers had one hit each.

Spencer Youngcourt improved to 2-1 after allowing just one hit over three innings. Aidan Talarek dropped to 0-1.

DePauw travels to Ohio Wesleyan on Saturday, April 27, for a North Coast Athletic Conference doubleheader against the Battling Bishops.
