Einertson Goes Deep in Tigers' Loss

Greencastle, Ind. – DePauw held a two-run lead going into the eighth inning but Webster plated three runs in the top half and took a 6-5 non-conference win on Sunday.

In the eighth Webster (24-7), who received votes in the latest NCBWA/D3Baseball.com poll, got their first two batters and into scoring position before a fielder's choice got the first run of the inning across. A two-run single up the middle from Danny Strohm scored the tying and go-ahead runs.

DePauw was aided early by a three-run home run from Collin Einertson. Jackson Williams recorded a RBI in the fourth, and Noah Salasky had an RBI single in the fifth.

Charlie Patrick went 3-for-4 with two runs scored from atop the lineup. DePauw totaled seven hits and committed two errors to Webster's 11 hits and two errors.

Jake Anderson recorded the win for Webster in two innings of relief. Shane Donovan picked up the two-inning save. The Tigers managed just one hit in the final four frames.

Reliever Nick Casey took the loss. Starter Sam Huff gave up three runs in five innings for the no decision.

DePauw is now 6-21 overall, and they have another non-conference home tilt Tuesday against Franklin.
