Lords Rally Late to Sweep Tigers

Westfield, Ind. – Kenyon scored five late runs in the eighth of game two and denied DePauw a split in a pair of NCAC games Sunday at Grand Park in Westfield, Ind.

Kenyon took game two 6-5 and game one 17-7. The Lords improved to 10-11 overall and 4-3 in the NCAC, while DePauw dropped to 3-18 and 1-7 in conference play.

In game two, DePauw used a four-run fifth to take a 5-1 lead. Brayden White had a RBI double in the inning. Collin Einertson scored two runs on an infield single, and Nolan Lavender hit an RBI single to score White.

Einertson finished with three RBI in the game. Noah Salasky went 2-for-3 with two runs scored.

Tom Giella recorded a quality start in six innings of one run baseball. Aaron Miller took the loss.

Kenyon had four consecutive base hits to start the eighth which included a triple and two doubles. A fielder's choice and an error resulted in two runs to tie the game and a sacrifice fly made it 6-5.

DePauw threatened in the ninth with a one-out double from White, but later a sliding catch in right field doubled up the runner at second to end the game.

Kenyon reliever Jesse Bogacz limited the Tigers to just two hits as he claimed the win after pitching the final 4.2 innings.

In game one, Kenyon scored 10 runs in the first three innings and knocked starter Grant Rademacher out of the game in the second. The Lords totaled three home runs in the game, including two from Matt Contreras.

DePauw's Charlie Patrick went 3-for-5 with two RBI in the game.

The Tigers will return to NCAC action Tuesday when they travel to Wittenberg.
