Dillon Goes Seven Strong as Tigers Collect 13th Win

Box Score

Auburndale, Fla. – Jack Dillon pitched seven innings of two-run baseball, and Mike Hammel contributed a 3-run home run as DePauw defeated Thomas (ME) 9-2 on Wednesday.

Dillon gave up seven hits and struck out six before Brayden White held Thomas scoreless in the final two innings. Hammel's three-run blast in the bottom of the fifth gave DePauw a 6-2 lead and enough of a cushion for Dillon to pick up his first win of the season.

Hammel led the offense, finishing 2-for-5. Jack Thompson also tallied three RBI, going 1-for-5. Ryan Grippo went 2-for-4 with two runs scored batting in the nine spot.

Thompson hit a two-run double in the bottom of the third to get DePauw on the board before scoring later in the inning. In the eighth he grounded out to first to collect his third RBI.

The win moves the Tigers to 13-4 overall. They will wrap up their spring break trip with a 3-game series against Me.-Farmington starting with a double header on Thursday.
