Division I Butler Too Much for DePauw

Indianapolis, Ind. -- DePauw traveled to Division I Butler on Tuesday but could only muster three hits in an 8-1 loss.

Reid Pittard finished 2-for-4 from the top of the lineup, and Max Cohen was 1-for-3. DePauw scored in the eighth when Elliot Shebek scored after a wild pitch.

DePauw fell behind early after a 5-run second inning. Butler scored three more in the fourth to take an 8-0 lead after four.

Starter Danny Farrar pitched a scoreless first but was forced out of the game in the second inning after allowing four walks and giving up five runs. He took the loss to fall to 0-1 on the year.

Aaron Miller, Grant Rademacher, Matt George, Tom Giella and Nick Casey all pitched a scoreless inning of relief for DePauw.

The Tigers are now 10-3 and will start their spring break trip on sunday, where they will play seven games in Florida in a week's span.
