Box Score 2 Granville, Ohio – Denison finished a four-game sweep of the Tigers on Tuesday with a pair of 5-0 and 4-1 wins.
DePauw drops to 11-13 overall and 2-6 in the NCAC West, while Denison improved to 15-5 and 4-0 in the conference.
DePauw's offense was stagnant in the first game with just four hits, one each from Jack Thompson, Mike Hammel, Collin Einertson and Tate Stewart.
Hammel took his first loss of the season on the mound in 5.1 innings of work. He is now 4-1 after giving up four earned runs and seven hits. He struck out three and walked three batters.
In game two, DePauw hit the ball better, but its 10 hits could only must one run, which came in the fourth inning. Ryan Grippo record the RBI single to short, scoring Collin Einertson.
Collin Einertson and Thompson each had two hits to lead the Tigers. Andrew Quinn had a solid outing on the mound in seven innings of work, giving up three earned runs and six hits. He recorded the loss and dropped to 1-2 overall.
Next for the Tigers, they travel to Ohio Wesleyan this weekend for a four-game series.
