DePauw Falls to Anderson at Indianapolis' Victory Field

Indianapolis, Ind. - DePauw managed just four hits, while Anderson pounded out 23 hits and scored in six different innings as the Ravens topped the Tigers by a 13-1 count at Victory Field. DePauw dropped to 5-11, while Anderson improved to 13-6.

Anderson got on the board in the bottom of the first as Austin Young led off with a single and moved to third on Jeremy Shelmadine's double to center. A balk allowed Young to score and Shelmadine came home on Cole Heberling's single.

The Ravens expanded the lead to 3-0 in the third as Heberling and Jake Craft singled. After Heberling stole third, Jonathan Eilbracht drove him in with a single.

DePauw's lone run came in the fourth when Mike Hammel hit a solo homer to left. Anderson responded with three in the bottom half of the frame to push the lead to 6-1.

The Ravens added five more in the fifth and one each in the sixth and seventh innings.

Ryan Grippo had two of DePauw's four hits, while Heberlin led Anderson with four with Young, Zack Hufferd and Eilbracht finishing with three each.

Andrew Quinn dropped to 0-3 with the loss, while Cameron Dotson improved to 1-1.

DePauw returns to action on Saturday, April 4, when it hosts Denison in a North Coast Athletic Conference doubleheader beginning at Noon.
