Franklin, Ind. - DePauw stepped out of conference play and split a doubleheader at Franklin College to move to 12-11 on the season. The Tigers dropped the opener, 10-9, but came back for an 8-1 win in the nightcap. The Grizzlies are now 13-13.

Franklin scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the seventh to take game one. The Grizzlies took a 3-0 lead in the first as Scott Windler led off with a double and scored on Jameson Brock's single. Brock moved to second on a wild pitch and Nick Stoia drew a walk. A throwing error on an attempted pickoff allowed Brock to score before Jesse Wilson knocked in Stoia with a single.

Robbie Stein drove in Jason Cohen in the second as the Tigers started the frame with three consecutive singles. J.B. McCallum later delivered a bases loaded sacrifice fly that scored Connor Einertson.

Franklin made it 4-2 in the third with Windler leading off with a double and then stealing third. Stoia's single brought home Windler.

The Tigers knotted the score in the fourth as Matt Dorsett was hit by a pitch and stole second before McCallum hammered a two-run homer.

DePauw gained its first lead of the contest with a four-run fifth. Cohen doubled and scored on Einertson's single. Stein followed with a grounder, but a bad throw on the attempted force out at second allowed Einterston to advance to third. Einertson then came home on a wild pitch. Paul Mpistolarides reached on a fielder's choice and Dorsett walked before McCallum tripled them both home with his fourth and fifth RBI of the game to push the DePauw lead to 8-4.

Franklin came right back in the fifth as Drew Kammerer led off with a walk and moved to second when Jarrett Johnson reached on catcher's interference. Windler singled home Kammerer and an error on the play also allowed Johnson to score and Windler to reach third. Brock's sacrifice fly scored Windler and trimmed the Tigers' lead to 8-7.

DePauw's final run came in the sixth as Zach Galyean led off with a double and moved to third on a wild pitch before scoring on Einertson's grounder.

Joe Ardizzone led off the Franklin sixth with a double and later scored on Johnson's base hit. the game's second lightning delay ensued as DePauw took the 9-8 lead into the bottom of the seventh.

When the teams took the field again, Stoia and Jesse Wilson each singled and then stole a base. The Tigers intentionally walked Zach Osowski to load the bases before Ardizzone followed with the game-winning single.

DePauw totaled 11 hits with Cohen and Einertson leading with three apiece and McCallum following with a pair. Windler and Wilson each had three of Franklin's 12 hits, while Stoia and Ardizzone followed with two each.

Joe Wojda dropped to 1-1 with the loss, while Nic Meyers picked up the win for Franklin.

DePauw's Eric Steele and Dylan Sheldon combined for a two-hitter in game two as the Tigers gained the doubleheader split.

McCallum was hit by a pitch in the first, moved to third on Galyean's base hit and scored on a wild pitch. DePauw added five in the fourth with Cory Meixner delivering an RBI single followed by McCallum's two-run single and Cohen's two-run triple.

Stein scored from third on a wild pitch in the fifth and Mpistolarides came home in the sixth on Einertson's sacrifice fly.

Franklin's lone run came in the seventh when Matt Hooten drew a two-out walk, stole second, moved to third on a wild pitch and scored on a passed ball.

DePauw totaled 11 hits in the win led by Galyean's three and two each from Cohen and Ryan Allee. Osowski and Chase Steinbrunner each had singles for the Grizzlies.

Steele improved to 1-1 with the win after allowing just one hit in five innings with five strikeouts and one walk. Hal Enkoff suffered the loss for Franklin.

DePauw returns to North Coast Athletic Conference play on Saturday when it travels to Wabash for a Noon doubleheader..
