Box Score April 23, 2011, Millington, Tenn. — DePauw dropped an 8-1 decision to Hendrix in an elimination game of the 2011 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Baseball Championship. The Tigers dropped to 16-20 with the loss, while the Warriors improved to 17-20.
After leaving the bases loaded in the first inning, the Tigers took a 1-0 lead in the second when Sam Swafford singled and moved to second on Ben Gardner's single. Rob McPike then delivered a two-out RBI single.
Hendrix reached the scoreboard in the fifth as Clark Sims, Collin Radack and Kyle Raskin each singled to load the bases. Jacob Perschke hit into a fielder's choice which forced Raskin at second, but allowed Sims to score. Perschke stole second, but an errant throw on the play allowed Radack to score. Andrew Thames followed with a single which plated Pershcke and gave the Warriors a 3-1 lead.
Perschke then drove in Nick Richardson with a bases loaded walk in the sixth. Hendrix sealed the victory in the eighth with four unearned runs.
DePauw totaled six hits with McPike leading with two. Six different Hendrix players had two hits apiece of the Warriors' 14.
Andy Manson dropped to 4-2 with the loss, while Richardson improved to 3-2.
The Tigers return to action on Saturday, April 30, when they host Washington-St. Louis in a 12:30 p.m. doubleheader.
