November 5, 2011, Springifeld, Ohio — DePauw improved to 2-0 on the season following a 178-116 win at Wittenberg.
The Tigers' 200-yard medley relay of Alex Alfonso, Matt Gleason, Matt Bacinich and Jack Burgeson opened the meet with a win in 1:39.99 before Robby Spichiger won the 1000 freestyle in 10:26.92.
Casey Hooker followed with a first in the 200 free in 1:43.25 with Alfonso taking a win in the 100 backstroke in 55.71. Gleason won the 200 butterfly in 1:58.93 with Bacinich posting a first in the 50 free in 22.72.
Alfonso won the 100 free in 48.26 as did George Morrison in the 500 free in 4:57.19. Hooker picked up his second win of the day in the 100 butterfly in a pool-record 51.87 before the 200 free relay of Burgeson, Joe Hessburg, Spichiger and Bacinich won in 1:29.76.
DePauw returns to action on Wednesday, November 9, when it hosts Wabash at 7 p.m.
