May 1, 2010, Greencastle, Ind. —  Sam Linette's bases loaded single in the bottom of the seventh of the first game gave DePauw a 6-5 win over visiting Chicago and a seven-run fourth lifted the Tigers to a 7-2 win in the nightcap and a sweep in the season finale.

DePauw finished the season at 26-17, while Chicago dropped to 16-14. The Tigers were scheduled to host Washington-St. Louis in a doubleheader tomorrow, but those games have been canceled.

DePauw took a 3-0 lead in the first inning of the opening game as Jon Newman drove home Ben Gardner with a single and Drew Holy plated Linette with a single. Newman scored on the play when the ball got past the Chicago left fielder.

Chicago countered with two as Zach Osman walked and Jack Cinoman doubled before each scored on ground outs by Stephen Williams and Trace Capps, respectively. The Maroons tied the score at 3-3 in the fourth on Marshall Oium's leadoff homer down the left field line.

Alex Wright's homer to left in the fourth gave DePauw a 4-3 lead, but Chicago added two in the fifth on Williams' solo homer to left center and when J.R. Lopez doubled and later scored from third on a wild pitch.

In the Tigers' seventh, Alex Jacques led off with a double and advanced to third on a failed pickoff. acques scored on Gardner's infield single. Hoffman followed with a double and Jason Cohen was intentionally walked before Linette drove the first pitch off the fence in the right center to end the game.

Cohen, Holy and Wright each had two of DePauw's six hits, while Cinoman led Chicago with three of its 12 hits. Osman and Lopez followed with two each. Andy Manson improved to 4-0 after pitching a scoreless seventh, while Joe Pankow dropped to 3-5 after going the distance.

In the nightcap, Chicago scored on in the third when Williams doubled home Ben Bullock before the Tigers scored all seven runs in the fourth.

Aaron Henry drove in three with a bases loaded triple and scored on Zach Galyean's infield hit. The Tigers' next three runs scored after the next five hitters reached on three walks and two hit batsmen. Chicago rounded out the scoring with an unearned run in the seventh.

DePauw totaled 10 hits paced by Henry, Galyean and Sam Swafford with two each. Four different Chicago players had one hit each.

Hobs Donovan improved to 5-1 with the win, while Elliott Ross picked up the save. Alex Garcia dropped to 5-1.
