March 22, 2010, LaGrange, Ga.  DePauw trailed host LaGrange by a 13-4 score after four innings, but rallied to tie the game in the eighth and eventually won it, 14-13, with one run in the top of the 13th. The Tigers improved to 9-7, while the Panthers improved to 13-10.

LaGrange reached the scoreboard first with two runs in the second on four straight singles, but the Tigers took a 4-2 lead in the third capped by Sam Linette's three-run homer.

That lead was short-lived as the Panthers sent 11 batters to the plate in the bottom of the third and eight scored with Robbie Shelton driving in the final four with a grand slam. The lead reached 13-4 as LaGrange scored three more in the fourth on three doubles.

DePauw's comeback started with two in the fifth, three in the sixth and three more in the seventh. Rob McPike's bases loaded sacrifice fly in the eighth tied the score at 13-13.

After combining for 26 runs in the first eight innings, the teams were scoreless for four straight before the Tigers broke through in the 13th. Taylor Hoffman led off with a single and stole second. Linette delivered a one out single which was mishandled in right field allowing Hoffman to score.

Hobs Donovan came in to strike out the side in the bottom of the 13th and preserve the win as the Tigers held LaGrange scoreless over the last nine innings.

DePauw pounded out 19 hits with Alex Jacques, Hoffman, Drew Holy and Jason Cohen finishing with three each. McPike, Linette and Matthew Skura had two hits apiece. Cohen drove in four and Hoffman scored four.

LaGrange totaled 18 hits with Derek Hooper leading the way with four followed by Brent Kinsey with three. Shelton, David Miller and Dale Feldman each had two. Shelton drove in four and Kinsey scored three.

Tyler Witham picked up the win and improved to 2-0 as he struck out 10 in 4 2/3 innings with just one walk and one hit allowed. Donovan picked up his first save with a perfect 13th. In all, DePauw pitchers totaled 17 strikeouts. Neal Smith suffered the loss after pitching the 13th inning.

The game was DePauw's longest since a 13-inning contest against Anderson in 1997.
