In the opening game, the Maroons took a 1-0 lead in the second as Trace Capps walked, moved to second on a sacrifice bunt and scored on Travis Blane's double. The Tigers' lone run came in the third when Matt Pustay singled and scored on Taylor Hoffman's double.

DePauw jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the second inning of the nightcap as Alex Jacques scored from third on a wild pitch before Aaron Henry and Chris Schenk followed with RBI singles. Sam Linette's two-run double brought home Schenk with the fifth run.

Chicago scored four in its half of the second as Oium and Fazzari hit back-to-back doubles before Jordan Callahan walked and Kyle Schmitt singled to load the bases.
