Box Score 2 March 29, 2008, Danville, Ky. - DePauw, ranked 27th in Division III, improved to 19-5 overall and 6-1 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference after a doubleheader sweep at Centre by scores of 3-0 and 13-3. The Colonels slipped to 10-9 overall and 2-5 in the conference.
John Tschantz pitched the Tigers to the game one win with the 3-hit shutout in which no Centre runner made it to second base.
The Tigers scored twice in the fourth on an RBI single by Adam Ford and a bases loaded walk by Sam Linette. Justin Weiner scored DePauw's final run in the fifth with a one-out walk and two stolen bases before coming own on a throwing error.
DePauw totaled five hits with Ben Gardner leading the way with two. Tschantz improved to 5-1, while Jake Jones dropped to 2-2.
Scoring in each of the first five innings, the Tigers won the second game in seven innings due to the 10-run rule. Jeremy Dickinson's two-run homer capped of a six-run first and the Tigers added one each in the second and third innings.
DePauw plated three unearned runs in the fourth before Matt Kleine delivered a two-run single in the fifth to make it 13-1.
Kleine had three of DePauw's 11 hits, while Weiner and Kyle Thompson each finished with two. Ben Jeffers and Derrick Shepherd each collected two of the Colonels' eight hits, while Steven Kull hit a solo homer in the third.
Aaron Myers improved to 4-0 with the win, while Andy Hagerman dropped to 1-3.
The teams wrap up their four-game set with a single game on Sunday.
