Tigers' Win Streak Comes to an End at Emory

March 26, 2008, Atlanta, Ga. - The 27th-ranked Tigers' eight-game win streak came to an end this afternoon after they dropped an 8-5 decision at 14th-ranked Emory. The Tigers dropped to 16-4 on the season, while the Eagles improved to 17-6.

Emory took a 5-0 lead after three with two runs in the second and three in the third before DePauw plated two in the fourth. Justin Weiner scored after an Emory error and Adam Ford drove in Ben Gardner.

Andrew Cohn gave the Eagles a 6-2 lead in the fifth after doubling home David Hissey and Emory added a pair of unearned runs in the seventh.

The Tigers rallied for three in the eighth on Mike Stout's two-run double and Ford's run-scoring double, but Emory's Adam Genn came in and recorded the final four outs.

DePauw totaled nine hits as Ford led the way with three, while Weiner and Gardner each totaled two. Joe Roth and Michael Saleh led Emory with three hits apiece and Frank Pfister followed with two as the Eagles totaled 12.

Derek Bryant suffered the loss and dropped to 3-1, while Andrew Johnson improved to 1-0 with the victory. Genn recorded his fourth save.

DePauw travels to Oglethorpe for a 5 p.m. non-conference contest on Thursday.
