April 13, 2006, Greencastle, Ind. - In a game that featured 43 runs, 44 hits and nearly 400 pitches, DePauw outlasted Franklin for a 24-19 victory at Walker Field. The Tigers improved to 14-17, while the Grizzlies dropped to 12-13.

Franklin jumped out to a 5-1 lead with two in the first and three in the third, but the Tigers sent 16 batters to plate in the third and scored 12 runs in the frame. Greg DeBeer sent a three-run homer over the fence in left center to tie the game at 5-5 and Adrian Norris hammered the next pitch over the fence in left to give the Tigers the lead for good.

DePauw totaled 21 hits in the win with Chris Newman collecting four including two doubles and a triple. Matt Kleine, Matt Deahl, Adrian Norris and Kyle Dobbs each finished with three hits and Eric Reese added two.

DeBeer and Dobbs each drove in five with Newman finishing with four RBI. Kleine scored five runs with Norris and Dobbs each crossing the plate four times. Dobbs hit a solo homer in the eighth as the Tigers finished with 12 extra base hits.

Franklin collected 23 hits with Nathan Roberts, Jim Swienconek, David Verdeyen and Frank Marino each totaling four. Ben Werner and Nick Ostergaard each added two in the loss. Sweinconek hit a three-run homer in the fourth and finished with five RBI and five runs.

Jeremy Alland improved to 3-1 with the relief win, while Dan Shearin dropped to 3-3 with the loss.

The Tigers travel to St. Louis on Saturday for a doubleheader at Washington University.
