Box Score March 19, 2006, Greencastle, Ind. - The Tigers dropped to 7-6 on the season following an 8-2 loss to Adrian at Walker Field. The Bulldgos improved to 3-6 with the win.
Adrian jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first on three singles with Tony Venekotter driving in Todd Meyers. DePauw countered in the second when Greg DeBeer, Matt Deahl, and Kyle Dobbs each walked and Jeremy Dickinson also drew a walk scoring DeBeer.
The Bulldogs scored twice in the third on Isaiah Beckman's two-run double to right center and added one in the sixth on Alexander Younce's run-scoring double to left center.
DePauw cut the margin to 4-2 in the bottom of the sixth when Dobbs and Adrian Norris walked and advanced on a wild pitch. Dobbs then scored on another wild pitch. Adrian put the game away with four unearned runs in the seventh on three DePauw errors.
The Tigers were unable to take advantage of 12 walks by Adrian's pitchers and stranded 13 runners for the contest. DePauw totaled just two hits as Deahl and Dobbs each singled. Adrian totaled 12 hits with Venekotter leading the way with three and Brent McCall and Younce each adding two.
Adam Stone improved to 1-0 with the relief win as he held the Tigers scoreless over 3 2/3 innings. DePauw starter Aaron Meyers dropped to 1-1 after pitching six innings.
DePauw travels to Wabash on Wednesday for a 3 p.m. contest.
