Box Score April 10, 2005, Terre Haute, Ind. - DePauw wrapped up Southern Collegiate Eastern Division play and its four-game conference series with a 21-8 loss at Rose-Hulman. The Engineers earned a series split with the victory.
The Tigers, who clinched the top seed from the division for the SCAC tournament, dropped to 23-11 overall and 12-4 in the SCAC, while Rose-Hulman improved to 17-11 overall and 10-4 in the conference.
Rose-Hulman scored four in the first and never trailed as it added five in the third, three in the fourth, two in the fifth and seven in the sixth in a game shortended due to the 10-run rule.
DePauw managed one each in the second and third, five in the fourth and one in the sixth.
The Engineers totaled 22 hits against five DePauw pitchers as Jimmy Goebel and Jeremy Hochstedler each had four. Josh Nash, Scott Tourville and Brad Jones had three each and Matt Salisbury followed with two.
The Tigers had 13 hits with two each from Chris Newman, Ryan Sipe, Matt Deahl, Zach Harris and Adrian Norris.
Bill Metzinger suffered the loss for the Tigers and dropped to 5-1, while Todd Clementoni improved to 1-1 with two innings of relief work.
DePauw travels to Mount St. Joseph on Tuesday for a 7 p.m. EDT contest.
