Danville, Ky. - DePauw improved to 9-8 overall and 4-0 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference after winning all three games on Sunday at Centre. The Tigers won by scores of 4-1, 5-0 and 9-0. Centre dropped to 1-12 overall and 0-8 in the SCAC.

The Tigers and Colonels played a tripleheader after Saturday's second game was postponed due to rain. In the four-game sweep, DePauw outscored Centre 31-1 and posted 20 straight shutout innings to conclude the series.

In Sunday's first game Centre outhit DePauw 7-3, but the Tigers took advantage of the Colonels' only error by scoring two runs in the fourth. DePauw took a 1-0 lead in the first on Kevin Ehinger's RBI-single. Centre scored its only run of the four-game series in the bottom half of the inning on Eric Moore's single to right.

Ehinger hit a one-out double in the fourth before Zach Harris reached on a dropped popup by Centre shortsop Michael Pangallo. Three wild pitches allowed both to score giving the Tigers a 3-1 lead. Harris' sixth-inning sacrifice fly plated Ryan Sipe with the final run. Ehinger finished with two hits, while Moore collected three for the Colonels and Mick Wigal added two. P.J. Mitchell struck out five and didn't walk a batter in improving to 3-1. Houston Cruse suffered the loss despite allowing just two earned runs on three hits.

Dave Edmonds pitched a two-hit shutout in the second game while striking out eight and walking just one in improving to 2-2 in the day's second game. The Tigers scored twice in the first on Harris' two-run single. They added one in the third on Chris Newman's sacrifice fly and two more in the sixth on RBI singles by John Younger and Matt Deahl. Younger finished with three hits and Harris added two in the win.

The nightcap featured a four-hit shutout by Mark Alson who struck out eight without walking a batter. For the fourth straight game the Tigers jumped out to a first-inning lead with two in the opening frame on Ehinger's two-run single. Sipe hit a two-run homer in the third and Ehinger followed with a solo homer to make it 5-0. Adrian Norris scored on a bases-loaded wild pitch in the fourth while Deahl drove in two with a single to left. DePauw's final run came in the fifth on Kyle Dobbs' single to center that scored Kevin McAteer.

Deahl paced the 13-hit attack with three hits, while Younger, Sipe, Ehinger and Harris each finished with a pair as the top five in the DePaw lineup went 11-for-20. Alson improved to 1-0 with the victory.

The Tigers return to action on Monday, March 22, with a single game at Piedmont (Ga.).
