Box Score

Bloomington, Ind. - On a blustery day at Sembower Field, DePauw fell behind 5-0 after two innings and couldn't recover in a 6-3 season-opening loss at Indiana University. The Hoosiers picked up three in the first and two in the second off of DePauw starter Kerry Frost. In the opening inning, Reggie Watson led off with a single to center. He then stole second and third and scored on a two-out passed ball. Joe Kemp then drew a walk and stole second. Ryan Donley then reached on an infield single and advanced to second on a DePauw throwing error which also plated Kemp.

In the second Kevin Mahar singled to left and stole second. Kurt Weigle and Josh Richardson walked to load the bases before Watson's fly out to center scored Mahar. Seth Bynum's single scored Weigle and Corby Heckman's base hit  brough home Richardson to make it 5-0. P.J. Mitchell then replaced Frost on the mound and got the final two outs of the inning.

Both runners moved up on a wild pitch before Adrian Norris loaded the bases with a walk. Gonzalez was picked off of third base by Weigle, but Hunter Slade delivered a single to right center which scored Gratz. Norris then scored from third on a passed ball.
