Hanover, Ind. - Senior midfielder, AJ Hockstok made the game-winning goal for men's soccer against Hanover in the 28th minute. This goal gave Hockstok his first goal of the season with a 1.000 shots on goal percentage.
Neck-and-neck with the Panthers on the scoreboard, they stifled Hanover halfway through the first half with a goal shot by Hockstock unassisted from the top of the penalty area into the bottom right corner of the net.
DePauw was even keel with Hanover with six shots each, but excelled with four on goal compared to Hanover's two. The Tigers drew seven corner kicks to the Panthers five. DePauw tallied 16 fouls compared to Hanover's 13. The Tigers tallied four yellow cards.
Logan Pierce, Cole Bubalo, Ante Basan, and Hockstok all made one shot on goal.
Sam Ortner made two saves in goal during his 90-minutes of playing time. Hanover's goalie recorded three saves in goal.
8-1 on the season so far, men's soccer will return to action Saturday in Gambier, Ohio to take on Kenyon for a 2:30 p.m. conference match up.
