Hanover, Ind. - DePauw competed in the Hanover College Invitational and posted a 2-1 record to move to 8-3 on the season.
The Tigers opened with a 3-0 (25-20, 25-12, 25-15) win over Blackburn on Friday before topping Muskingum 3-1 (25-18, 25-27, 25-23, 25-21) on Saturday. Hanover then snapped DePauw's five-match win streak with a tight 3-1 (25-23, 22-25, 28-26, 27-25) victory over the Tigers.
Against Blackburn, DePauw outhit the Beavers .231-.076 and held a 46-25 edge in kills.
Madeline Ozersky led the Tigers with nine kills, while
Julia McWaters totaled 18 assists.
Jen Proeh finished with five blocks and
Lacey Pickering had 22 digs.
DePauw outhit Muskingum .144-.143 and led in kills, 57-48. Ozersky had 12 kills with McWaters totaling 31 assists. McWaters,
Logan Walters and
Allie Landry had two aces each while Proeh led with five blocks and Pickering paced the squad with 33 digs.
In a match that included 37 ties and 13 lead changes, Hanover prevailed. DePauw outhit the Panthers, .282-.215 and led in kills 68-56. The hosts, however, held a 15-6 edge in service aces. Ozersky had a team-high 18 kills and seven blocks with Proeh and
Izzy Wallace each adding six blocks and Proeh totaled 17 kills.
Lauren Bohn and
Sophia Leonardi had two aces each with Pickering leading with 27 digs.
DePauw returns to action on Wednesday, Sept. 23, with a 7 p.m. match at Rose-Hulman.
