Cleveland, Ohio - DePauw field hockey defeated John Carroll Saturday afternoon 4-1.
The Blue Streaks claimed the first shot and goal at 17:01 after DePauw's Ellie Lochhead made a penalty stroke attempt at 13:15. The Tigers retaliated with a goal of their own to tie it up 1-1 at 20:09. The goal was delivered by sophomore forward Rosie Ondria assisted by sophomore forward Ava Gallagher.Â
In the final eight minutes, the Tigers pulled ahead tallying three goals in seven-minutes. First delivered by Ellie Lochhead and assisted by Gallagher off a penalty corner. Gallagher returned for the second for another assist to Sydney Commo off another penalty corner. For the final, Lochhead and Gallagher recreated the second goal of the night.Â
Tiger Ellie Lochhead led the team with six shots on goal. Ella Harms followed with three shots on goal, and Ondrla and Commo tallied two.Â
John Carroll collected three greens cards during the game.Â
Senior Anna Marks was given a green card at 48:35.Â
DePauw outshot John Carroll 18-12, 17-8 on goal. Tigers edged Blue Streaks 12-4 in penalty corners.Â
With the win, DePauw moves to 4-1 overall, while John Carroll drops to 1-4. The Tigers will return to action, Sunday, September 20th on the road in Cleveland, Ohio to take on Oberlin at 12 p.m. for a conference match up.
