Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw improved to 6-2 after sweeping the Saturday matches at its invitational. The Tigers topped Anderson 3-1 (26-24, 21-25, 25-17, 25-11) before blanking Illinois Tech 3-0 (25-14, 25-21, 25-18).
In the opening match of the day,
Kaiden Harrington led with 10 kills and hit .381, while
Addison Hooker and
Izzy Wallace finished with nine kills each.
Julia McWaters led with 30 assists and shared the team aces lead with Hooker and
Logan Walters as each had two.
Jen Proeh and Wallace each led the defense with five blocks with
Lauren Bohn totaling 12 digs.
Jayda Lanham paced Anderson with 14 kills with Blythe Young finishing with 36 assists and three aces. Lili Jeffries led the way with three blocks and Amy Nye totaled 15 digs.
DePauw held a 56-46 edge in kills and outhit the Ravens, .319-.135. The Tigers als led in blocks, 11-4.
Against Illinois Tech, Proeh and
Madeline Ozersky led with nine kills each with Proeh hitting a perfect 1.000 and Ozersky .360. McWaters finished with 20 assists and three aces, while
Allie Landry also totaled three aces. Proeh and Ozersky had six blocks apiece, while Bohn had 11 digs and McWaters 10.
Karla Trautmann Mendez paced Illinois Tech with 13 kills and four aces, while Rowan Midgette had 16 assists and two blocks. Brooke Rifkin and Trautmann Mendez each finished with 11 digs.
The Tigers led in kills, 39-34, and outhit the Scarlet Hawks, .271-.114. DePauw also led in blocks, 8-2 and in digs, 56-48.
DePauw returns to action on Sept. 8 when it faces Blackburn at the Hanover Invitational.
