Crawfordville, Ind. - DePauw outscored Wabash, 14-5, to extend their undefeated history to 12-0 against the Little Giants. The Tigers improved to 5-5 overall and 1-2 in the North Coast Athletic Conference, while Wabash dropped to 2-8 overall and 0-2 in the conference.
The Tigers got off to a quick start with freshman Oscar Kokke scoring his first goal of the afternoon unassisted less than three minutes into the game, before putting away his second two minutes later to give DePauw a 2-0 lead in the first five minutes of regulation.
Hudson Murray tallied the third off an assist from Brody Carlson, extending the Tigers lead. The Tigers added three more before the Little Giants responded. The Tigers countered with two more unassisted goals to end the first, 8-1.
In the second quarter, the Tigers slowed their offensive attack tallying only two goals before halftime. Noah Sulpizio tallied an unassisted goal at 10:15 and a second goal off an assist from Kokke at 3:56.
Taking a 10-1 lead into the second half, DePauw's Jack Neff set the tone early, recording another unassisted goal in the first few minutes, followed up with a score from Carter Cassidy, assisted by Jack Brand.
The Little Giants retaliated with one unassisted goal in the third to cut the Tigers lead to 10.
Trying to gain momentum and make a comeback in the final quarter, the Little Giants tallied two before the Tigers made it onto the board. Closing out the game, both teams scored three a piece to bring the final score to 14-5.
Neff led the charge, tallying five goals and one assists. Kokke recorded three goals and one assist. Sulpizio had two on the day while Murray, Cassidy, Alex Sharma, and Cooper Kinney all tacked one onto the scoreboard for the Tigers.
Evan Cleveland won 3-of-17 faceoffs. Nolan Childs, Brody Carlson, and Russ Nelson each caused two turnovers.
Sam Santiago paced Wabash with three goals with Zach McMichael and Jake Pippen scoring one apiece.
Logan Miltner won 17-of-20 faceoffs and scooped up seven ground balls. Lucas Cunningham caused three turnovers.
Anthony Reinhardt recorded 12 saves in goal for DePauw with Colin Krekeler tallying seven for Wabash
DePauw edged Wabash 38-34 in shots, 21-17 in shots on goal. The Little Giants won 19 of the 22 faceoffs and led in ground backs, 37-36. Wabash totaled 30 turnovers to DePauw's 17.
DePauw will host John Carroll on Saturday, April 11, in an NCAC match up starting at Noon.
